ABSTRACT


A pre-experimental study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme (STP) regarding breast self-examination among the adolescent girls of selected college of Narengi, Guwahati. A total of 35 students were selected using purposive sampling technique. A structured questionnaire was used to collect the data. The results revealed that the pretest mean was 8.2 which increased to 15 in the post-test and there is significant association between the knowledge and demographic variables such as age and religion. The study concludes that STP was significantly effective in increasing the knowledge regarding breast selfexamination among the adolescent girls.
