COVID-19 pandemic has taken the world by storm. As for maternal health, it has been affected both directly and indirectly. The present study aims to assess the maternal outcome among post-COVID women, and the outcome of neonates born to post-COVID women who delivered in a selected multispeciality hospital, Kozhikode. A quantitative non-experimental approach with retrospective cohort research design was used. Using consecutive sampling, a total of 272 women and their new-borns were enrolled in study cohort and comparison group. Participants in the comparison group were matched with study cohort for parameters such as age and parity. Self-prepared datasheet (personal and clinical datasheet, maternal outcome datasheet, neonatal outcome datasheet) was used for data collection. Pilot study was conducted to assess the feasibility of the study. Electronic medical record of both mother and newborn were retrospectively reviewed to collect the needed data for the actual study. The data were tabulated and analysed by descriptive and inferential statistics. The study findings show that maternal outcome based on elevated maternal temperature, tachycardia, tachypnoea, elevated WBC count, thrombocytopenia, decreased foetal movements, anaemia, gestational diabetes mellitus, need for antenatal hospitalisation, antibiotic therapy, antenatal and postnatal ICU admission, operative delivery like LSCS, puerperal pyrexia and neonatal outcome based on birth weight, sucking and tolerance to breast milk are significantly associated with COVID-19 during pregnancy.
