AI chatbot usage is expanding quickly, particularly among young adults including nursing students as they provide ease of use, accessibility, and tailored support. However, questions are raised concerning their drawbacks, possible prejudices, its effects on interpersonal relationships and critical thinking. Examining young people's knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours towards AI chatbots is necessary to comprehend how they interact with these technologies. Quantitative research approach and descriptive research design were used in this study. Selected Nursing colleges of district Mohali were chosen for the study. Convenient sampling technique was used to select a sample of 200 young adult students. Data was collected through knowledge questionnaire, attitude scale, and practice questionnaire, and analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Of the 200 young adults in this study, nearly half (47.5%) demonstrated good knowledge, an equal proportion (47.5%) had average knowledge and only 5 percent showed poor knowledge. Most participants (67%) showed a positive attitude, while 33 percent had a negative attitude. Majority (73.5%) demonstrated a high level of practice while 26.5 percent had lower practice scores. The study suggests that the majority of students have good as well as average levels of knowledge, positive attitude and higher practice of AI chatbots. The results emphasise the importance of integrating AI literacy into academic curricula to ensure informed and responsible usage among young adults.
