Reducing maternal mortality is a key Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), targetting fewer than 70 deaths per 100,000 live births by 2030. To achieve this, special attention is required for underserved women in rural areas, urban slums, and marginalised communities. This study aimed to assess the utilisation of maternal health care services among married women in Melayanambakkam village (Tiruvallur district, TN). It was a correlational study conducted among 130 married women aged 18-40 with at least one living child, who were selected using consecutive sampling technique in the selected community, Chennai. Data was collected using the Socio Demographic variables proforma of Married Women, Health variables proforma and Utilisation Checklist on Maternal Health Care Services, by interview method. Most participants were homemakers (89%), aged 26-30 years, from nuclear families (74.6%). Nearly half had higher secondary education, with monthly income `10,001– `20,000. Majority were married for 1-6 years, had one child, no illness (87%), no insurance (96%), and had not undergone master health check-up (98%). Most of them registered at PHCs in the first trimester (99%) and utilised government maternal services (89%). Mean utilisation score was 22.38/25 (89.52%) ± 3.08. Level of Awareness on maternal health care services was high (99%). No significant association was found between demographic variables and utilisation of maternal health care services (p>0.05). Maternal health care service utilisation was high, though a small proportion remain underserved. Health professionals, especially nurses, must continue to motivate and support all mothers to achieve SDG-2030 goals.
