The Nursing Journal of India
Nursing Journal of India (NJI) is the one of the world’s oldest journal regularly published with a legacy of more than 100 years.

Nurses constitute the largest healthcare professionals globally. Their knowledge, skills and competency levels impact the health outcomes. Competency is a multifaceted issue that includes a vision, specialised skills, and the capacity to foresee the complications while sub optimal competence levels may lead to decreased job satisfaction, increased professional disengagement, burnouts and decreased nursing care quality. Therefore, high clinical expertise needs to be included as integral component of nursing education. This study, involving participatory action research, the HEWON workshop for 50 nurses from surgical wards in the setting of a premier Telangana hospital found that holding a high-end workshop was effective in upgrading the quality of their care.
